Nadia Ratsimandresy – composer / performer

Composer and improviser Nadia Ratsimandresy discovered music and the ondes Martenot at the age of 9, studying with Françoise Pellié-Murail in Evry. She graduated from the CNSMDP in 2002. Her work is characterised by a singular voice that seeks to be part of a diversity of creative music and a renewal of expressions and languages. Behind her thinking on the place of the body, emancipation is the driving force behind the narrative – emancipation of social bodies, of the so-called classical repertoire, of textures and sounds, of languages, of collaborative processes. An improviser, she has shared the stage with Cécile Thévenot, Raymond Boni, Okkyung Lee, Maria Chavez, Paul Pignon and Annabelle Playe. Nadia Ratsimandresy has been co-director of the Lozère-based company AnA Compagnie with artist Annabelle Playe since September 2021. She is an associate composer for 2022/2023 and 2023/2024 at Scènes Croisées de Lozère.
