Heidi Folliet studied set and costume design at La Cambre art school in Brussels. There she discovered and practised set design in its entirety: museography, cinema, theatre and installation. It was with a desire to get closer to the theatre and collective work that she continued her studies at the National Theatre School in Strasbourg. There she trained with Pierre Albert, Aurélie Thomas, Anne Théron, Caroline Guila NGuyen and Thomas Jolly, as well as with her fellow students from a wide range of backgrounds.
Since 2016, she has worked as a set designer with Maëlle Dequiedt (La Phenomena), Louise Dudeck (Compagnie M42*), Bérangère Janelle (La Ricotta), Alexis Armengol (Théâtre à cru), Josephine Triballeau (Compagnie Dyspercée) and Compagnie 52Hertz. She is a member of the ïnuée collective, with whom she directed La Vie devant soi, based on the novel by Romain Gary, in 2018 (thanks to the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Les Envolées programme), followed by La Barbe, loosely based on the Bluebeard tale, in 2024. In 2021 she co-founded – alongside Étienne Hubert, Romain Crivellari and Solène Fourt – La Villa Moulins, a workshop for artists and craftspeople in the Moulins district of Lille.
