In 2022, Chantal Akerman’s Jeanne Dielman, 23, quai du commerce, 1080 Bruxelles was voted the greatest film of all time by 1,639 critics, a belated tribute to the director, who struggled to gain recognition in her era and for whom cinema was a combat sport. Maëlle Dequiedt fell in love with this artist who defied convention, paving the way for a new generation of artists through the radicality and creative freedom of her work. Three years ago, Maëlle moved to Ménilmontant and discovered that Chantal Akerman lived in an apartment at the end of the road. It was from that moment on she started to believe in ghosts.
