Lou Reichling – typography / video

She studied at ESAL – Épinal, then went on to study at the École Estienne in Paris, where she specialised in publishing and typographic design. She began working as a freelance graphic designer, mainly in the fields of culture and publishing.
Her work develops around text and the different forms it can take, and the links between container and content in their visual implementation. In pursuit of her research, she teamed up with two photographers and an art historian to create Essarter éditions – a photo-documentary publishing house – in 2017. At the crossroads of genres, this project draws on the richness and openness offered by dialogues between different disciplines and literary genres.
She met Maëlle Dequiedt in 2017 on the creation of Shakespeare / Fragments Nocturnes , for whom she designed a system of animated surtitles integrated into the set design. She also works with Prémisses, the companies À Corps Perdus and Les Ombres des Soirs, the festival Les Musicales d’Assy (74) and the Parcours de l’Art in Avignon.
