After studying Germanic philology, Frédéric Leidgens joined the school of the Théâtre National de Strasbourg. He has worked with directors such as Alain Françon, André Engel, Bernard Sobel, Robert Gironès, Jacques Nichet, Michel Deutsch, Christian Colin, Marcel Bozonnet, Jacques Falguières, Arnaud Meunier, Claudia Bosse and Bruno Meyssat. He has also worked with choreographers such as Sumako Kosseki, François Verret, Mark Tompkins, Charles Cré-Ange and Wanda Golonka. With his friend Daniel Emilfork, he has written, directed and performed Archéologie / Domus, La Journée des chaussures and Comment te dire (published by Les Solitaires Intempestifs). He has created several shows inspired by poets: Charles Baudelaire, 211 avenue Jean Jaurès, Paris XIXe, Je reconnais tout sauf moi-même (after François Villon’work), Lenz after Georg Büchner, Des voix qui s’embrassent by John Millington Synge with Atelier Volant, and Nuits after poems by Rilke. He has taken part in many of Stanislas Nordey’s shows. Recent productions include En attendant Godot by Samuel Beckett, directed by Jean-Pierre Vincent, 2666 by Roberto Bolaño, Joueurs, Mao II, Les Noms by Don DeLillo, directed by Julien Gosselin, S’en sortir by Danielle Collobert, directed by Nadia Vonderheyden, L’Espace furieux by Valère Novarina, directed by Mathilde Delahaye, La Maison by Julien Gaillard directed by Simon Delétang, L’Adolescent by Dostoyevsky with students graduating from the school of the Théâtre national de Bordeaux Aquitaine, directed by Sylvain Creuzevault, and Nous campons sur les rives by Mathieu Riboulet directed by Hubert Colas.
